I'm personally torn between Dark Elves and Lizardmen. But it's not like building walls really forces you to omit important buildings, you don't need more than 1 or 2 recruitment centres, and building a recruitment centre is the only case where you may not be able to go for income buildings + walls in every minor settlement. As for the walls, well - you pretty much have to build them in every settlement anyway, aside of the select few that are so deep inside of your territory that you will get several turns to react even if AI decides to ignore the walled ones and go rampaging in the countryside. ~1 1/2 stacks of elite high end units for 10k? uhm.Keep in mind that you know which settlements will be attacked, so you'll have most of your armies around them during rituals, and the intervention armies seem to be bound to attack the settlements ASAP, which means they will be vulnerable to ambushes. I'm not sure if I'm a fan of these mercenary type armies you can buy to disrupt rituals. I'm glad they increased the building slots of province capitals. It's pretty much a must have to build walls and guard houses in every single town, since all of them are vulnerable from the sea. I really wonder how the new map is going to fuck up our undefended settlements.
